Customer Service Representative Jobs description

A customer service representative is responsible for handling incoming inquiries or complaints from customers and solving or processing them. The typical duties of a customer service representative role include receiving calls from existing customers or prospective clients, understanding their inquiries, complaints or service requests, interpreting the information exchanged, taking required action, keeping record of specific accounts, making follow up calls, offering customers with service advise and performing other tasks assigned by the customer service manager. A customer service representative typically reports to a customer service manager.
A customer service representative should have an associate's degree or a high school diploma. Prior experience gained from a customer service representative position may help. Excellent customer service skills and a pleasant telephone manner are crucial for a customer service representative role. Familiarity with MS Word and Excel are essential.
