The Director, HR Business Practices serves as a business advisor and change agent to leadership teams of selected national groups. This role provides strategic advice and counsel to leadership on HR issues and strategic execution, with specific focus on staffing and recruitment, leadership development, organizational effectiveness and performance management. Proactively identifies and addresses HR issues related to helping national groups achieve their people strategy and objectives. Will collaborate with other CHI HR practice areas and CHI groups to provide consultation and support to national groups.  This role will manage a team of HR professionals and work within a matrixed environment.
 
1.  Interfaces with national groups by providing HR advice/counsel on multiple people initiatives (such as change leadership, talent management, diversity and inclusion, workforce optimization, employee relations, etc) and partners with other CHI national HR colleagues to recommend solutions to complex HR issues.
 
2.  Serves as a change agent in the deployment and implementation of HR programs and services through partnering with other CHI HR practice areas. Collaborates with other CHI groups (such as performance management, strategy, clinical services, operations, etc) whose efforts align with or impact the people strategy, objectives and human resource function at the national group level.
 
3. Consults with and coaches managers on complex people issues such as acquisitions, divestitures, reorganizations, and strategic workforce planning.
 
4.  Consults with leaders to identify critical people success measures and raises expectations for performance. Monitors HR and organizational performance and offers advice/counsel on solutions.  Assess reports, identifies HR performance gaps and consults with national leaders to raise performance levels and identify and help develop people strategies and objectives to assure each national group is a work community of choice. Facilitates teams or groups.
 
5. Provides facilitation to company-wide initiatives, such as annual goal-setting, performance planning, and organizational surveys.  
 
6. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include: interviewing, hiring, and training direct reports; planning, assigning, and directing work: appraising performance: rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and problem resolution.
 
 
 ','!*!Education / Accreditation / Licensure (required & preferred):
 
Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management or related field required.
Master’s Degree or advanced HR certification (such as SPHR) required.
 
Experience (required and preferred):
 

8-10 years progressive HR experience preferably in a business advising role.
Experience working with an IT organization in an HR advising role strongly preferred.
Minimum of 5 years experience managing a team of HR professionals.
Experience in change leadership and coaching, talent management, and workforce planning to partner with leaders on business solutions.
