Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse is held accountable for following the policies and procedures of the department, organization, and CHI. 
 
Additionally, the position serves as a role model for ethical behavior and promotes an awareness and understanding of positive ethical and moral principles consistent with the Mission, Vision and Behavior Standards of Mercy Medical Center.  
  
Essential Duties:
1.   Completes nursing assessment of patient and documents appropriately into the patient’s chart.
2.   Utilizes the nursing process in developing a plan of care.
3.   Implements plan of care and documents in chart.
4.   Evaluates the patient’s response to care and plans revision to care as needed.
5.   Engages in patient/family education and teaching as appropriate.
6.   Develops a discharge plan and participates in the multidisciplinary discharge planning teams.
7.   Assesses the patient and reports any changes in condition or adverse reactions to medication or treatments. Documents this in the patient chart. Notifies MD.
8.   Administers specified medications, by either oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular, intradermal, or intravenous route.  Documents all aspects of medication administration.
9.   Assembles and uses equipment appropriately during procedures..
10. Documents all pertinent information into the patient’s record.  Performs this documentation at the resident’s bedside.
11. Accurately completes and submits the Minimum Data Sets on Medicare Residents according to set time lines.','!*!CertificationsCurrent ND RN License
Current BLS Certification (Basic Life Support)
Current PALS Certification (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
Pass color blindness test.

EducationGraduated from an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
ExperiencePrior nursing experience preferred.
