Director, Financial Operations
UTA seeks an experienced Director, Financial Operations to join our Finance & Accounting department. The right candidate will be a combination of an accomplished accounting and finance executive and a leader who can act as a financial partner to the accounting and finance teams involved in running our businesses.
We are seeking a leader with relevant history within the agency world who has demonstrated capabilities to work collaboratively across multiple geographies and divisions in a complex
and fast paced environment. This person will be expected to have strong interpersonal and influence
skills as they will be expected to both partner with and appropriately challenge the business leaders. The successful candidate will provide financial, operational, and strategic business support.
More specifically, the Director, Financial Operations, will support the client processing teams serving as a point person for all processing and system challenges for various finance and accounting departments. The Director, Financial Operations will also be a catalyst for change as we look to implement best practices across UTA and all its subsidiaries. This will include evaluating our ongoing financial activity while applying consistent processes and systems across UTA's entire operating platform.
What You'll Do
• Evaluate our existing processing platform (with an emphasis on our client processing) and implement best practice processes and systematic solutions
• Trace transactions through the entire client processing platform and perform a gap analysis to identify and mitigate risk
• Review UTA's subsidiary processing platforms and implement consistent processes and systems tailored to each unique processing environment
• Liaise with client processing teams directly on the processing of invoices, statements, debits, tax matters, and any account questions/concerns they may have
• Partner with management to determine the ongoing use of offshoring services and their effectiveness
• Evaluate the client bookings process and review processing practices for accuracy and completeness while considering revenue recognition standards
• Provide insight to the processes involving financial reporting, collections, and insights into client performance
• Understand accrual accounting, contracts administration, and systems to identify opportunities to improve the client booking and various other financial processes
• Build long-term relationships based on trust and confidentiality
• Assist with ad hoc requests
What You Need
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field strongly preferred
• Minimum 10-15 years of relevant Entertainment industry experience in Accounting and/or Finance
• Solid relationship-building skills and ability to interact with individuals at all levels, including management
• High-energy level and a strong work ethic. Self-starter with the ability to work independently but also collaboratively.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to create processes and procedures while working in a very fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong understanding of fundamental accounting principles (Ex. Revenue Recognition)
• Previous experience managing a team
• Entertainment experience preferred
• Prior experience in a customer service focused role a plus
• Proficient in all Microsoft Office products; exceptional skills in Excel.
• Experience with financial & enterprise systems such as NetSuite
