The Associate Coding and Reimbursement Analyst will support the day-to-day reimbursement inquiries from field sales and external physician and hospital providers and customers for Medtronics Cardiovascular portfolio. The position commits to timely customer service responding to inquiries within a 24-hour window. The Associate Coding and Reimbursement Analyst will answer live phone calls, return phone calls, and answer e-mails in the area of US government reimbursement policies and third-party reimbursement, particularly as it relates to supporting hospital and physician customers. You will partner with certified coders on the team for detailed or complex questions. You will be a key member of the Reimbursement and Customer Support team and the Economics, Reimbursement and Evidence function, partnering with team members and external customers on the reimbursement and related regulations on commercially released products.
A Day in the Life
Serve as point of contact for incoming questions and inquiries regarding coding, coverage and payment from field sales and external physician and hospital providers. Inquiries will be received either by phone or via the RS mailbox.
Perform environmental scanning for a well-defined set of topics pertinent to
Provide report out on inquires and identifying common questions and in turn, support the development of proactive solutions (tools, FAQs, etc.) that facilitate customer understanding and education.
Partner with field-based Regional Economic Managers (REMs) to deliver best-in-class customer education and support
Update and maintain current coding, coverage, payment information and tools that supports customer understanding and education. Partner with other team members on critical coding, coverage and payment development of tools and customer resources.
Develop educational programs related to Cardiovascular coverage, coding and reimbursement.
Provide training and education to sales force, physicians, program and clinic analysts, and financial and billing employees in clinics and hospitals.
Contribute to the process for developing new concepts and innovative ways to educate and deliver timely and relevant reimbursement education materials and collaterals and conducting web-based training as part of formal and informal knowledge sharing forums.
Development and update of coding and payment spreadsheets to respond to internal customer inquiries for coding and payment support.
Track and report project status, timelines, and findings, highlight successes, and measure the contribution of outputs to the business.
**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**
Bachelors degree required
0 years of experience required
Demonstrated work experience in a customer service role, with excellent customer service focus
Nice to Have
Certified Cardiology coder (CCC)
Project Management experience
One or more of the following coding credeProject ntials: RHIA, CCS, CCS-P, or CPC
CIRCC coding credential or willingness to obtain
Work experience in providing coding, coverage, and payment advice in a healthcare setting with an emphasis on cardiology.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of U.S. healthcare reimbursement mechanisms (Medicare prospective payment systems, third-party payer coverage, clinical and procedural coding) and regulations related to medical technology products.
Working knowledge of federal regulations pertaining to Medicare rules and coverage policies for Cardiovascular therapies, including cardiac devices.
Able to make recommendations and implement process improvement opportunities.
Able to work independently, cross functionally and as part of a team to problem solve and seek advice when necessary performing work with limited oversight and supervision.
Able to manage multiple tasks with high degree of organization-prioritization skill and attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Able to apply strong analytical skills to a variety of situations of varying ambiguity
Experience with Microsoft suite of products with an emphasis on PowerPoint, Excel, Word
Ability to travel up 10-20%
