This is a responsible, non-supervisory position. Duties include constructing daily vehicle routes for safe productive passenger pick-ups and drop-off’s in a transit/paratransit environment; Develops and implements paratransit and route trips for daily schedules; Analyzes historical route information, reviews travel patterns, scheduling efficiencies, improved timelines and overall performance to ensure quality service; Analyzes and adjusts system routing parameters, as needed, for scheduling efficiencies; Communicate effectively with management as it pertains to strategic objectives; Organizes and conducts activities to assure safe, cost-effective, on-time operating performance; Tracks and reports adherence to run cut structure and communicates issue to management.
Responsible for executing daily scheduling/routing strategies for targeted on time performance and route productivity; Analyzes departures from base, breaks, lunches and returns to base for adherence to run cut; Analyzes established and changing passenger riding patterns in order to adjust daily routing strategies accordingly; Answer passenger calls collecting all necessary trip information for the permissible time period; Provide system information for current and new passengers as well as for potential passengers on accessing the transportation service and using it effectively; Provides operational, on-time compliance and other miscellaneous reports.
Plans and schedules route itineraries, and coordinates route accommodations by studying travel patterns for maximum efficiency; Ensures that scheduling and routing needs are met within the constraints of the Agency; Monitors, and maintains route deployment trackers and reporting; compiles and completes reconciliations as required; Follows and revises procedures required to support the operation execution process and scheduling applications; Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Desired Education/Job Experience:
High School Diploma; Two (2) years of scheduling experience preferably in a transportation or messenger environment; Or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Minimum Physical Requirements:
Sitting for sustained periods of time, minimal walking and standing, and travel as needed.
Other Qualifications:
Must possess strong transportation skillsets, preferably in a paratransit or taxi industry; Previous customer related experience required; Telephone speaking and/or call center experience; Computer experience; Prefer general knowledge of Ecolane scheduling software; Must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables within a transit environment; Must demonstrate a high level of customer service commitment and be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain composure under pressure; Successful candidate with have in-depth knowledge of the AACOG region, including surface streets, highways and metropolitan San Antonio.
This position is a Pay Grade 8, with a starting hourly rate of $16.52. This is a non-exempt position. Open until Filled.
