This position is responsible for developing category-based solutions using fact-based shopper, consumer and syndicated data for Dollar Accounts (Dollar General, Family Dollar, Dollar Tree) as well some limited distribution accounts. This position provides business analysis and specific recommendations to the customer resulting in growth for the category as well as Tyson Products. This role provides independent guidance to the customer to strategically manage the category while meeting the needs of the customer’s loyal shopper and maximizing sales for both the customer and Tyson Foods. This position will be a solution provider that delivers value creation to earn and maintain category lead status for all key Tyson categories. Additionally, this role provides Customer Development Managers sales and Business Unit Leadership direction and support in achieving Tyson sales volume distribution share and financial objectives. This position will have a high level of interaction with Retailers and internal stakeholders.
Role responsibilities:
Collaborates with retailer in support of consumer & shopper insight application, utilizing market and competitive trends.
Analyzes category, competitive and market trends (syndicated data). Develops and drives assortment and space optimization at the retailer.
Provides on-going post promotional analysis for Tyson.
Develops Category Business Plans with internal Sales team.
Develops and presents Customer Category Reviews/Business Reviews, Top-to-Top presentations and New Item presentations with the support of various team members.
Develops insight-based recommendations based on analysis of space management (e.g., assortment), sales, distribution, pricing and promotion to help drive consistent sales recommendations.
Provides ongoing reporting and scorecarding to both retailer and Sales teams.
Utilizes, leverages and analyzes various data sources including retailer shopper loyalty card data, retailer POS, syndicated data sources (IRI, Nielsen, 1010, Numerator) and other proprietary Tyson Foods Category Leadership research.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience: 5 years of experience in Category Management, Sales, and/or Consumer Insights. Food industry experience a plus.
Computer Skills: Advanced skills in PowerPoint and Excel required.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong influence and presentation skills required.
Special Skills: Experience analyzing data & providing actionable insights utilizing retailer data sources, as well as advanced-level syndicated data usage (IRI/Nielsen/Spectra, etc) & utilization of panel information; excellent planning and project management skills; strong ability to leverage creative thinking.
Travel: 6-12 trips annually.
