We're proud to launch a fully paid ($21 per hour), on-the-job training program that will prepare apprentices to become medical assistants-certified (MA-Cs).
As part of the frontline care team, Medical Assistants are essential to providing great care to our patients. They help prepare patients for examination, measure vital signs, provide administrative support and work closely with doctors and nurses. As an apprentice you will gain on the job training to learn the skills and knowledge to become a Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C). Upon successful completion of the program you will be eligible to sit for the CCMA MA-C exam. The program will give you tools and resources needed to be able to successfully pass the exam.
The year-long paid MA Apprenticeship is packed with hands-on training, clinical experience, mentoring and classroom/online education, similar to what you would experience at a community or technical college. But unlike those local college courses, our training program is 100% paid for by Virginia Mason in exchange for an agreement to continue to work for an additional two years after you obtain your MA-C designation.
High School diploma or GED required and must be 18 years or older by March 1, 2022.
Current Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) as certified by the American Heart Association (AHA) (May be completed within the first 30 days of hire)
