BB&T ranks first among banks in customer service satisfaction


North Carolina-based BB&T (Branch Banking and Trust) Corporation ranked first among banks and second in home mortgage for customer satisfaction. J.D. Power, a global marketing-information firm, prepared the rankings. BB& T scored 860 on a 1,000-point scale, followed by M&T Mortgage with 828. Citizens Bank ranked third overall with a score of 825. These top scorers perform well in handling customer contacts quickly and efficiently, providing an extensive range of options for making payments, providing flexibility when scheduling electronic payments, designing and/or using automated phone systems to address customer needs, and keeping billing statement error rates lower than the industry average. With more than 1,400 financial centers, BB&T Corporation is the ninth largest financial holding company. The bank, along with its subsidiaries, provides full-service commercial and retail banking and other financial services.

Amdocs signs five-year services contract with Telkom SA
Amdocs, the chief provider of customer experience systems, has signed a major five-year services extension contract with Telkom SA. Telkom is a leading integrated-communications company in South Africa. According to the deal, Amdocs will continue providing maintenance and support services for the Amdocs customer-experience systems installed at Telkom since 1999. Amdocs will also provide order management, consolidated billing, and customer relationship management (CRM) for its clients. The firm will help Telkom offer advanced corporate support and provide new personalized services and bundles. Amdocs recently launched two new services packages: "Telkom Closer" and "Telkom PD Connect." With more than 16,000 employees, Amdocs serves its clients in more than 50 countries across the world.

Comcast opens new customer service center
Comcast, the top provider of cable, entertainment, and broadband communications products and services in U.S., has opened its third call center, worth $20 million, and state headquarters at the Opus Northpointe Corporate Campus. The new 87,385-square-foot facility at 15815 25th Avenue West was built to meet the ever-growing demand for Comcast's products and services. The company's Triple Play package allows customers bundle video, high-speed Internet, and phone services for a single, low monthly price. The regional headquarters and call center presently has 350 employees. The three Comcast call centers will jointly employ 1,000 customer service representatives and receive calls from 1.2 million Washington-based customers.
